Fassa RX561 silicone coloured render (1.5mm) applied with EZE24 machine

The homeowners of this Victorian terrace property in Clifton were experiencing severe damp penetration caused by cracked and failing pebbledash render. Years of water exposure had compromised the existing exterior coating, allowing moisture to penetrate the solid brick substrate behind the façade.

The client wanted a long-term breathable rendering solution that would modernize the appearance of the property while improving weather resistance and durability. The challenge involved stabilizing damaged areas, preparing the original masonry correctly, and delivering a flawless finish suitable for a premium residential area.

The project began with a full removal of all loose and blown pebbledash render to expose the original Victorian brick substrate beneath. After cleaning and stabilizing the wall surface, a high-performance bonding primer was applied to ensure proper adhesion.

We then installed a reinforced basecoat system with embedded alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh to reduce movement cracking and improve long-term structural stability. Once cured, the façade received a primer coat before applying the Fassa RX561 silicone coloured render in a 1.5mm grain finish.

The render was machine applied using the EZE24 spray system to ensure a highly consistent texture, efficient coverage, and uniform finish across the entire elevation. Final detailing and trowel finishing were completed by hand for a clean architectural appearance.

The completed silicone render system transformed the property visually while resolving the underlying moisture penetration issues. The breathable silicone finish now provides superior water repellency, flexibility, and long-term durability suitable for the exposed Bristol climate.

The clean white finish modernized the Victorian terrace without compromising its original character, creating a crisp premium façade designed to remain bright and low-maintenance for many years.
